This ring is in the same family as our bracelet named Hephaestus. Named after the god of fire and the forge. He is the patron god of blacksmiths, craftsmen, artisans, and sculptors, which serves as the foundation of all metallurgy.
I hand forged this ring from sterling silver and added 23-karat gold sheet. The sheet gold is much thicker than my older Keum-boo rings and will wear for the lifetime of the ring. I used the Korean technique of Keum-boo to apply the 23 karat gold to the silver. The silver has been oxidized to give a lovely burnt patina. The patina will wear over time changing the look.
